Every month, around the 17th, I travel up to Markham to take Audrey’s monthly photos at my in-laws. Today was a very mild day, so I thought it would be nice to go out for a walk down to Unionville Main Street. It’s a cute little area in Unionville and I’ve walked down this street several times but I never knew there was an old working mill here until today!
A little history: The Unionville Planing Mill was built in 1840 and was in business of supplying lumber for local buildings until it burnt down in 1983. It was then rebuilt in 1987 to preserve Unionville’s past history.
The mill still works but unfortunately the water levels were too low today so it wasn’t working today.
